It is with a mixture of emotions that we announce the retirement of a longtime Copart employee. Donald Jones, also known to many as “Mr. Jones” or “J.R.,” is retiring from Copart after 41 years of service. His career began in 1979 with County Salvage in Los Angeles which later was acquired as Copart Los Angeles in 1988! According to his colleagues, Mr. Jones was “not just a hard worker, but also a friend and a very wise person who often shared his wisdom with the newer Copart staff.”
Here are a few words from Mr. Jones himself:
What are you looking forward to while in retirement?
“I am looking forward to traveling with my wife, we have a plan to travel cross country by car this year.”
What is your greatest memory in your time with Copart?
“My greatest memory is my first few years at Copart Los Angeles. I had the privilege to work with many hard-working individuals in a very tight family environment. Today I still communicate with some of my ex-coworkers who became good friends.”
What can you say about your career at Copart?
“Over the years with hard work I was able to gain the respect and trust of management. I was blessed to have great managers in my time at Copart.”
