Wednesday Oct. 7, 2018, Copart employees were proud to honor Veteran Major King Operation FINALLY HOME’s “Notes of Love” event as he entered his mortgage-free home for the first time. “Notes of Love” is an opportunity for loved ones, sponsors and supporters to visit the newly framed home and write inspirational words or leave notes of love on the studs before they are wrapped with dry wall. Team Copart made sure to leave their mark.
“I am proud to know that we as a company support the efforts for these brave folks that do so much for us. I am just very Happy to know that Copart is a part of the effort for Major King,” said Copart Property Manager Thomas Smith.
Major King relayed an emotional thank you to the attendees. According to Operation FINALLY HOME’s website, “he is focusing on getting healthy and plans to give back and help veterans reclaim their lives. He would like to be a spokesperson and motivational speaker so he can share his story and experiences and help veterans like himself who are fighting for a better tomorrow.”
“They may know my glory, but they won’t know my story.” -Major Eric King
Copart partnered with the Winston Custom Homes, NEC, the City of Irving and the Dallas Builders Association to fund this project and give this American hero a new place to call home.
Operation FINALLY HOME provides mortgage-free homes to service members and their families who have become wounded, ill, or injured as a result of their service in the defense of our country.
