On August 6, 2018, Copart Casper hosted three police officers for K-9 training. General Manager Walter Humphreys jumped at the opportunity to host K-9 officers at his yard. Since November, 12 officers and nine K-9s have conducted field training at Yard 192. “I like to see the dogs in action. When I was on active duty in the Navy, we used K-9s for similar purposes…a dog is more loyal than anything else,” said Humphreys.
A Georgia K-9 officer-in-training traveled to Casper, WY for training with officers from Casper Police Department and Douglas Police Department. The yard at Copart Casper provided a controlled and secluded environment that was ideal for practical K-9 drills. The trio has been to Copart Casper three times for training and GM Humphreys is excited to have them back again.
Casper Police Department will be bringing a few new K-9s in the coming months and Yard 192 is looking forward to hosting them for training as well. “I am more than happy to have them here, anytime,” said Humphreys, “Yard 192 is excited to be able to help out the community by providing a safe and challenging environment for the K-9s to train.”
