Copart Columbus partnered with Bowling Green State University and Nationwide Insurance to host an extrication training course performed by Rescue Methods. Over 30 firefighters visited Copart’s Columbus facility for the training class.
The three-day training course offered continued education to firefighters from Columbus, OH and surrounding areas. Nationwide Insurance donated 40 accident-damaged vehicles for the training course. The vehicles were arranged in various positions to simulate vehicle crashes.
The course is designed to teach students proper extrication techniques in a practical, hands-on setting. “Having the ability to assist with such an event is an honor for Yard #29 and we look forward to working in conjunction with Nationwide, BGSU and Rescue Methods and taking next year’s event to the next level,” said General Manager Ben Bower.
Rescue Methods is an Ohio based e-learning training agency, owned and operated by a group of career firefighters. The company provides online and in-person, practical training to first responders. Rescue Methods aims to bridge learning gaps by fusing online and field training methods.
After a long day of training, the firefighters cooled down with snow cones from Kona Ice!
