Copart UK’s Sandwich facility recently held their 7th event for Canterbury College forensic students. This was the largest event to date with 18 students and 2 teachers in attendance.
General Manager, John Limbrick gave the students an overview of Copart and what we do before taking them around the yard to look at different accident damaged vehicles. Limbrick said, “the teacher explained that they do not have practical areas at the college for students to learn, so coming to Copart is a great help to the college and students to work on actual accident damaged vehicles.”
They had lectures and preparation work in the conference room before heading to the BB4U (Breaker Bid 4 U) area. Then, they had the opportunity to investigate and do forensic reports on accident damaged vehicles.
The investigation included photography, vehicle measurements and evidence recovery — allowing the students to complete an assessment for their qualification which cannot be done in a classroom. The day was a success and all the students enjoyed the day. One student said, “thank you so much for this, as without coming here to Copart we would not get the chance to work on vehicles.”
Trevor Boddy, a teacher at Canterbury College, added, it is rare that a company gives up so much time to support students with their studies and this is an excellent example with Copart supporting Canterbury College and working together to build relations with a local company. Thanks again for the support that Copart gives us.”
Thank you to Copart UK for the dedication to your community.
