Service Star Secrets Vol.2

The Service Star award is presented to Team Copart members who have gone above and beyond to provide 5-star service to their teams and Copart’s Members. We asked recent Service Star award winners to share what they think it takes to earn a Service Star nomination, and we’ll be sharing their answers over the coming weeks.

This week, Q1 Service Star winners DannyLee, Chelsey, and Leah are sharing all the details Team Copart wants to know about how to become a Service Star.

What three characteristics do you think someone needs to be a Service Star winner and why?
A. Three characteristics a person needs to be a Service Star award winner are dedication, accountability and reliability.

Dedication: As an employee, you must be dedicated to completing all your work. Responding to emails and returning calls keeps the machine running and shows that you want the team and company to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.

Accountability/Ownership: Taking accountability for your work by completing it in a timely and accurate manner shows respect for the job, your position, the company and its customers.

Reliability/Consistency: Show your peers and leadership you are reliable by completing timely and accurate work. Being consistent when completing tasks shows your team and Copart Members they can rely on you.

Q. Describe how it made you feel to have your 5-star service recognized by winning the Service Star award.
A. Hearing the news about me being recognized as a Service Star award winner made me feel valued. As a Title Representative, I am behind the scenes processing titles for our sellers and I sometimes feel overlooked. This award assured me that my work and actions do not go unnoticed.

Q. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
A. If I could have a superpower, I would possess the ability to Teleport. With this superpower, I could travel to any place I wanted. The faster commute would decrease my travel time, allowing me to spend more time taking in the sights.

What three characteristics do you think someone needs to be a Service Star winner and why?
A. In my opinion, to be recognized as a Service Star you have to be outgoing, approachable and lead by example.

Q. Describe how it made you feel to have your 5-star service recognized by winning the Service Star award.
A. I was excited! It was validation that I’m doing my job right and helping those who need it. I’ve won 3 times in a row, which gives me the motivation to keep going!

Q. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
A. I would like to be able to go back in time.

What three characteristics do you think someone needs to be a Service Star winner and why?
A. Positive attitude, reliability and being respectful of others. Overall when you appreciate and love your job, these characteristics will shine with minimal effort.

Q. Describe how it made you feel to have your 5-star service recognized by winning the Service Star award.
A. I was happy and appreciative.

Q. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
A. I would like to be able to time travel. I would love the ability to travel back and forth through time to experience how people lived & survived.
