Yard 26, Copart Philadelphia, continued their annual October tradition of raising funds for CancerCare, an organization that provides counseling, support groups, education, community programs and financial assistance to patients and survivors of cancer.
CancerCare holds a special place in the hearts of the team members at Copart Philadelphia because in the past the organization supported one of their own. “Sheila Turick told us about CancerCare. She received support from this organization while she was battling cancer and knew the money we raised would be used to directly support others,” said Amy McNulty, Office Manager of Copart Philadelphia.
Every year, Yard 26 raises more money than the previous, and this year was no different. Efforts were organized by DMV Title Clerk Sheila Turick, and with the help of the entire staff, Copart Philadelphia raised more than $1,600 for CancerCare.
Yard 26 raised money by selling hot dogs, bags of chips, soda and baked goods. During the final week of October, staff members donated items for gift baskets that were given away as a raffle prize.
