Mindy Mathews is celebrating a decade at Copart!
In November of 2007, she began working as a temporary employee for Quad City Salvage Auction (QCSA). She joined the Copart family during the QCSA acquisition in May of 2013 and began working at Yard 99 in Eldridge, Iowa.
Q.What is your current title?
“I am a remote Business Analyst working on Chris Hart’s Business Intelligence team that is primarily stationed at Copart headquarters in Dallas, TX.”
Q. What accomplishment are you most proud of thus far?
“I was an integral part of the QCSA Acquisition Team, and I’m very proud of the work we did in first acquiring Salvage Direct and Desert View Auto Auctions (DVAA), then in positioning QCSA for acquisition by Copart. This was a challenging time for me. In fact, I was pregnant with my now 7-year-old during the Salvage Direct and DVAA acquisitions and I was home with my 1-week-old, now 4-year-old when I received the call to come in and get QCSA ready for sale.”
Q. How does it feel to hit the 10-year mark?
“I feel excited and blessed about this 10-year milestone. I wake up every day filled with gratitude because I have a job I love. I have met some amazing people, traveled to places in the U.S. that I would have never seen otherwise, and learned so much. I am so thankful for the last 10 years and I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years bring.”
Q. What has been your most memorable moment while working at Copart?
“I was in a crowded elevator at my first Global PCI when a sharply dressed gentleman reached for my name tag and asked me about my role at Copart. I answered the question explaining that I was working on the transitioning of QCSA’s operational and financial systems into Copart, and he said, ‘Well, you are Copart now. Welcome!’ After he walked out of the elevator, I realized it was Willis Johnson! I had just finished reading Junk to Gold, which made me laugh and cry and genuinely touched my heart, so it’s probably good I didn’t realize it initially. I would have been too star-struck!”
Q. What do you enjoy most about working at Copart?
“I enjoy our community service projects and I love supporting the Copart Cares Team. I have a tender place in my heart for many causes, and I have been able to work with fellow Copart employees to support the Easter Bunny Helpers, March of Dimes, Honor Flight, The Rock Island School District, Child Abuse Council, Bethany for Children and Families, Alternatives for Senior Care.”
The entire Copart family would like to congratulate you on your ten-year milestone, Mindy.
Here’s to ten more!
