On August 17th, National Non-Profit Day is used to recognize non-profit organizations across the globe for the work they do in their communities and the impact they have on so many lives. In celebration of this day, we’d like to highlight an organization that has made an impact on the automotive industry in the UK.
Copart UK has been an avid supporter of non-profit organization Ben since 2014. Ben is an organization that collaborates with automotive companies to offer support for automotive employees and their families.
Online, over the phone, or in person, Ben offers free services for those in need. They focus on four main areas of health and wellbeing, including physical, mental, financial and social support to those who work for, or have worked in, the automotive industry. They assess your situation and develop a plan of action, which may include guidance, counseling services, and/or funding for housing or medical expenses.
Copart UK colleagues have participated in many fundraising activities in support of Ben. Go Bald for Ben, featured three Copart employees who volunteered to have their chests waxed as a way to encourage charitable donations from their coworkers. During an event called, Wear Blue for Ben, Copart employees wore something blue and donated to charity. Their efforts raised 180 euros ($212). They also hosted a raffle, where they raised 700 Euros ($820). The grand prize winner received four tickets to the West Midlands Safari.
