Copart is always looking for opportunities to welcome local, state and federal public servants into locations for training and drills. Copart offers a safe, secure and controlled environment for these agencies to conduct mission-critical training.
More than 100 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Inspectors from every area of the country reported to Copart Phoenix for training. This was the first time in 10 years the NHTSA was able to host such an impactful and meaningful event.
Prior to the training, the NHTSA Chief and Trainer visited with Copart Phoenix General Manager Jonathan Black to identify the space and vehicles needed for the training.
Through a coordinated effort from Copart and some its insurance sellers, cars were provided and prepared for the training event. The Copart Phoenix team worked together to arrange the vehicles in the order requested by NHTSA inside Copart’s indoor receiving building to help with their training.
“It was a total team effort by Copart Phoenix’s office and yard staff,” said Black. “My team is very service-oriented toward our community and government. It was a lot of work, but we enjoyed the opportunity to facilitate training for our local and national government NHTSA inspectors. We hope to be given the opportunity to assist them again.”
Following the training, the NHTSA responded saying, “We can’t thank you enough for all your hospitality and assistance with our NHTSA Field Crash Investigation Training last week! Everyone commented how nice and accommodating the Copart people were and what an outstanding job you did to make this a successful training!”
Agencies are encouraged to contact the General Manager at any of Copart’s more than 180 locations nationwide to arrange training. Copart Lyman in Maine recently hosted their location fire department for special rescue training.
