Our Copart Dallas South location participated in the city-wide Share the Warmth event to benefit homeless outreach and food pantry efforts.
Customer Service Representative Victoria Garza sparked the inspiration to do this kind of work around the city and Office Supervisor, Kendra Ybarra led the initiative. Employees were encouraged to donate gently used items such as blankets, gloves, jackets and other items to the homeless of the downtown Dallas area.
“I wanted to participate in the Share the Warmth event to share God’s love through us to others in a time of need, especially during the season of giving rather than receiving,” said Victoria Garza.
“I heard about one of our fellow employees who was going to give to the homeless in Downtown Dallas so she could teach her children that it’s not always about receiving during Christmas,” said Kendra Ybarra. “I thought that it would be a great thing to do together as a team.”
“It is important to get involved in community events like this as a team because we are a part of a community ourselves, ” said Tamee Montgomery and Stephanie McKenna, fellow Copart Dallas South Customer Service Representatives. “As a Copart team, it brings us all together and makes us all aware of what it means to work and help those in our community.”
“It is important to give back to our community and to those in need because we need to show that we care and that those who are less fortunate are not alone,” said Andrea Black and Brianna Chavera, fellow Copart Dallas South Customer Service Representatives.
