Meet Andrew Vrana! Andrew is currently studying Emerging Media and Communications at the University of Texas at Dallas. Learn more about him and his time as an intern in the Copart Marketing Department!
What are 3 interesting facts about you?
I wrote and independently published a technothriller/cyberpunk novel last year. It’s called Dreams in the Tower, and it’s on Amazon. You should check it out. I mean, if you like that sort of thing and you don’t mind books that haven’t been professionally edited.
I’m a growler-filling, home-brewing, snifter-swirling craft beer nerd. It’s actually kind of an obsession. Seriously, I have like 40 bottles aging in my “cellar” (aka closet) and enough beer glasses to stock a small pub.
As of next spring I will have two whole bachelor’s degrees to my name. Why get a second bachelor’s rather than going for a master’s, you ask? Good question. I don’t really have a good answer, but it’s a good question.
What is your favorite thing to do in your field?
I enjoy working on websites because it gives me a chance to work on my web design skills and become both more adept in HTML, CSS and CMS programs, and write copy. Also, having live pages on the Copart and CrashedToys websites that I significantly contribute to is pretty cool.
What is one of your favorite memories from interning at Copart?
Definitely going out to CrashedToys for the Saturday auction/party. Meeting all the people out there is great, and afterwards it’s a cool place to hang out and listen to some live music. If you have to work on a Saturday, that’s not a bad place to do it!
Who is your office buddy and what is one cool thing about them?
It would have to be my manager Jeff. He’s always appreciative of the work I do and supportive of me. One cool thing is that he has so many duties and responsibilities and yet he’s always calm and laid back. I wish I had his stress management skills.
