James Kawa is in the 3rd grade and often talks to his teacher at Oakdale Elementary about all the “cool” things his father does at work. After hearing many of James’s stories, Ms. Marchak and Ms. Brown from Rankin County School District decided to invite General Manager Jim Kawa to give a presentation about Copart to their classrooms.
Jim Kawa engaged the kids with pictures of police cars, trucks, Mercedes-Benz, big rigs, limousines and mustang at the Copart yard he manages in Florence, Mississippi.
“They loved it. They thought it was the coolest thing in the world,” said Kawa.
Beyond the cool cars Copart has to offer, Kawa used the opportunity to teach the children about safe driving and texting while driving. The information for the students was also something they could share with their parents.
Most importantly, Kawa explained the importance of math, writing, logic and computer skills.
“The kids loved learning all about Copart and what skills they need to be successful future employees,” said Kawa. “I think I just met a whole new generation of buyers, seller and surely some future stellar employees.”
