Copart is proud to have veterans as part of the Copart family. This veteran’s day we are honoring the employees who have served our country. Our employees are in good hands because our founder, Willis Johnson, is also a veteran.
We believe that the sacrifice and selfless service of our employees is not something that should go unnoticed. We salute you and we are glad you are part of our family. Make sure to thank the veterans in your life today.

Founder and Chairman of the Board, Willis Johnson was drafted by the U.S. Army in 1966 to serve in Vietnam. He served as a forward observer in the 1st Infantry Division, also known as the Big Red 1. When he finished his your in the Army, he received a Purple Heart for being injured during combat. Many of the Copart leadership practices in place today were passed down from Willis’s military service.
