Title: National Vehicle Asset Manager
Hometown: Fairfield, CA
Years working with Copart: 7
What brought you into the field you are working in?
I started at Copart in the LDP program, I did two years in field ops, then I moved to QA; from QA I went to Finance, from Finance to Sales, and now Corporate Ops running the Vehicle Asset Management department. The field I’m in is truly a combination of each position I’ve held prior, I love the fact that I am utilizing my experience form each job.
What’s your favorite part about working at Copart?
The people and the history; they really go hand in hand, the people here gave us the history and we continue to make history through the growth and opportunities within the company.
You’re stuck in an elevator- name three famous people (dead/alive) you would want to be stuck with:
Voltaire (I enjoy philosophy), Enzo Ferrari (I’m a car guy), and Sun Tzu (Again for the philosophy).
What career advice would you give someone that is starting off in your field?
Be willing to go where the company asks you to. Don’t be so afraid of failure that you fall to inaction, take a risk. Take care of the company, and the company will take care of you.
What is your favorite memory at Copart?
My favorite memory at Copart was the D. Hales Integration in the UK. It wasn’t easy, it was full of challenges every day, but I learned a lot and built some good relationships within the Copart family from across the pond.
How does your work help Copart buyers, sellers or the industry as a whole?
Vehicle Asset Management takes a cradle to grave approach with managing our clients’ inventories. We help our sellers by managing their assets (so they don’t have to) and increasing their returns overall; we help the buyers by proactively reaching out to them to hand-sell and get them into the cars they’re looking for.
If applicable, what college did you attend?
I graduated from Brandman University with a BS in Business Administration.
What is one of your bucket list items?
I never gave it much thought really… I guess if I had a bucket list, I’d say it would be to take my wife on a tour of Europe.
What are you binge watching right now?
Nothing right now… I was into Dexter, and Breaking Bad. My wife and I watch Once Upon a Time, but it’s between seasons.
Favorite sports team: New England Patriots
Favorite vehicle: 1970 Dodge Charger R/T
What is one interesting fact about you?
I am always willing to try new and odd foods, there’s not much I won’t eat… that being said, I can’t stand meat-loaf, cottage cheese, goat cheese, or tuna casserole.
